Athearn GE -9-40CW that started as a undec shell that I painted BNSF.

KCS SD40-2 Snoot by Paul Hebert

I wanted to share with you my just completed Athearn model of an KCS SD40-2 snoot. What is different about this model, is that I painted it all with spray cans not an airbrush. The model was detailed with various Details West and Details Associates parts. The decals are Microscale KCS, and the yellow stripe on the bottom are from a Microscale BNSF C44-9W set. Now i must admit, I did use an airbrush for the exaust weathering on top.  I am very proud of it, and shows that you don't always have to have an airbrush to make a model you are proud of.

WC GP40 by Martin Steffen

Athearn undecorated GP40-2 shell painted with Polly S WC maroon and Sand.   Decals used are Micro marks WC GP40 along with scale rail graphics #3026 Map Unit decals to create this unit. It was my first attempt in detailing and decorating a diesel locomotive.

ATSF 7447 by John Waitkus

This model of a 8-40B was made from a RPP shell and has Athearn drive components, but has been remotored with a can motor.  It has a lot of added details and is lightly weathered.    An interesting thing about this model is the box around the front headlight.    This is one of my earlier efforts.

B&O 7403 by Jeffrey Sessa

Atlas SD35, B&O #7403. Paint touch ups, re-number from factory, Kadee #58 couplers, and weathering give the unit a look of several years' service.
